In the film she wears these totally hip (at the time and maybe still) clothes from Mary Quant and Paco Rabane. which was your favorite? I loved the sort of charlie brown style minidress with those cool sunglasses when she's complaining to mark about the hotel they stayed at. Second Place would be at the end of the film with that glitter dress and she's all metallic and pretty when theyre at the party.
Never cared for Paco Rabanne's multi-mirrored dresses (women who wore them swore at them for their awkward habit of snagging themselves, in the spaces between their patchwork of mirrors, on objects roundabout), but the disc-mirror dangle earrings Hepburn wore in the party scene are to die for! I also like the navy, white-horizontal striped casual top she wears with jeans (there were NO designer jeans in those days), and that black vinyl catsuit in which she paces along the tree-lined roadside. Her red swimsuit in this film is also a stunner on her lithe torso. Audrey Hepburn's form and figure were perfect for ANY sort of clothes, her face's shape lovely for all, except for long, straight, hair styles.
I came here just to start this very topic!!!! I'm glad others love the clothes in the movie too.
Just as the OP wrote, my favorite outfits are the red and yellow "Charlie Brown"? minidress with yellow stockings + sunglasses. The metallic mini dress at the end is to die for! Let's not forget the very cool green mod outfit Audrey wears in the car at the very end.
I have forgotten how ULTRA COOL she's dressed in this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are these the coolest 60's clothes ever to appear in a motion picture????!!!?????!!!!!!!!
I love the striped dress she wore while complaining about the hotel as well..reminds me of Twiggy! Also love the outfit she changes into in the car and also I would kill to have a swimsuit like the red one she wears on the beach. Love the way she paired it with a striped tshirt, amazing beach look and I think better than nearly nude bikinis most people wear.
Noone I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low
Something I just noticed: The scene where Joanna is first introduced to David, Marks rival, she is wearing the same sunglasses (large, tortoise shell, green lenses))she wore in "Breakfast at Tiffany's.
"I told you a million times not to talk to me when I'm doing my lashes"!
I want the pastel, multi-colored mini Pucci dress with flared sleeves. Would look good even today. Also, the bathing suit with print that seems similar to the said Pucci dress.
