I saw this movied first as a kid and have seen it many times since. I've visited London over a dozen times and made several attempts to locate the specific locations where the filming took place. I've managed to locate one or two, but most of the others seem to be similar but not quite right. Would someone out there know where many of locations were (most specifically the school)?

The school was in Johnson Street in Shadwell.
Some of the structures remain but the building itself was torn down and flats now stand on the original site.

I did a pilgrimage on the locations a few years ago. Just about managed to locate Juniper St (where they gather for the funeral). It has changed a bit since the film, understably. A rare bit of coincidence was that I asked someone for directions for Reardon St and he was actually living in Juniper St when they were filming. He did recall the street being cordoned off and a big hoo-ha ensuing. He was about 7 years old at the time of the film.
I live in Bolton, so not local but found little difficulty in navigating around the area. Didn't find the school though but reading the comments from the lady may go again.
