personally i love this film, but the first time i saw it, it also left me blank... POINT BLANK! HAHA! ... ah, cheap joke, but i had to do it.
but i like to watch the film for its artistry. the commentary on the DVD is very good for explaining a lot about the film as well.
Well, I don't like the term "point", but basically, I understood it as a sort of existential meditation on revenge. It's a revenge movie stripped down to its core. The motives and specifics are immaterial. All that matters is the act itself.
