the guy in the club
Who was the guy singing in the nightclub? Was this actually a known singer for the time, or just a guy who worked at the club they filmed it or something?

shareI was always under the impression that was Stu Gardner, or The Stu Gardner Trio performing "Mighty Good Times". I have often wondered about that music credit and if that was the big band track Walker has to switch off during Chris' freak-out at Brewster's swank pad or the band in the Movie House, and by looking at the credits for "Stu Gardner" on the combined information page it looks like this was his first project -- hence the conclusion it's the band in the bar rather than the big band song. If wrong I'd be delighted to know!! and I also think that the Chubby Boy sitting at the stage bar who screams along with the singer looks an awful lot like Ned Beatty ...
shareI too thought at first it was Ned Beatty, but upon taking a closer look, I don't think so.
shareI agree, it was awful. A question for anyone who remembers 1967 (not me): was that something that an audience at the time would probably have liked hearing? or was it more likely intended to sound awful in the first place?
