graphic novel based on the hunter/point blank...

I just finished reading this -- http://www.amazon.com/Parker-The-Hunter-Richard-Starks/dp/1613773994 -- Parker: The Hunter, an amazing graphic novel/comic book paperback, illustrated by Darwyn Cooke... I got a decent used copy for $8 plus shipping off of amazon (prices usually hover between $8-12), and as a huge fan of graphic novels/noir and crime thrillers/Stark and Parker in general/POINT BLANK (one of my favorite films ever), I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY reccomend this masterpiece. 160 pages that beautifully capture the novel, it actually might be the definitive edition of the book, besides... you know... the book itself.

Anyone else seen this and have any thoughts? (there are 2 other graphic novels based on Parker, with one more on the way; all by Darwyne Cooke.. I read The Outfit but have yet to read The Score.. but the Outfit is amazing, too! I am not familiar with the original novel, but from what I know of it and other Parker stories, it almost seems like The outfit is a combination of tidbits from a couple other Parker stories -- interesting stuff, either way)...

I agree -- it's a terrific read. Looking forward to checking out the two follow-ups.

EDIT: Anyone interested in the Parker books at all needs to check these out. I just picked up a huge leather bound collection called "The Martini Edition". Here's a link:

T'ain't cheap, but man is it purdy. A hard-boiled little valentine.

The last two books, The Score and Slayground, are terrific too.
