The night I saw Point Blank

I put this as a comment on the film's page because I didn't realize there was a message board. Perhaps fans of Point Blank will find this interesting.

When the film was first released in Toronto (1967) I went to see it with a friend. After the film we went to a really nice restaurant that was in an old mansion, lots of rooms and staircases. I started up a winding staircase and accidentally walked right into a man who was walking down. I looked up, right into the cold blue eyes of John Vernon. I felt as though I'd walked right into the film! I was so shocked, I can't imagine now what I said, I probably just mumbled an apology and quickly got out of his way. I remember feeling really flustered, seeing him as his character from the film, not just a guy in a restaurant! Every time I am reminded of Point Blank, I think of that night.

That's cool man. Dodgy meetings with celebrities, reminds me of the evening I met two of the boy's from ZZ Top in a restuarant in Jersey (UK). Good old guys with big beards scared the hell out of me...

i can imagine that seeing him like that right after the movie THREW you right back into the story (inside your mind) in a split second, like "Oh crap this man is dangerous!"
