Who was Fairfax?

I'm probably setting myself up for some kind of embarrassment here, but I didn't recognize him. Did the same character show up earlier in the movie with a different name? He's not in the credits - even as 'uncredited' - so I tend to think he's got some alias, and I just missed it.

Also, is it just me, or does the actor look a lot like William Hurt?

I studied this movie 30 years ago in a film course in school, and if you notice Fairfax was supposed to be the Keeenan Wynn character, but the voice you hear on the desk speaker in not Keenan Wynn. I seem to recall that this was used to show how impersonal the syndicate in this movie has become. not much to go on. Hope that helps.

I just watched this and wondered too...thanks. Great movie!

Yost was Fairfax.

***Spoiler*** Walker asks him "Are you Fuzz?" on the Alcatraz tour boat. Though, he says no, and that his name is Yost, and that he wants the Organization. It's unclear if Yost really is an outsider, or at the top of the Organization, or both. Brewster names him as Fairfax to Walker, but, he names himself as Yost to Walker.

wow...attention span is dead. try watching the movie next time.

Grammar, punctuation, and subtlety are also dead. Nevertheless, if you care to point them in the right direction, they just might try watching it again.
