The reason for sending Mowgli back to the Man Village was quite stupid

I mean, sure a Tiger is the strongest predator in the jungle, but wouldn't a entire clan of wolves be able to attack him?

reply

They said earlier in the movie that "even the strength of the pack is no match for the tiger." I'm guessing though, that it was a small pack. In the book, I think the reason is more valid because Shere Kahn starting turning the younger generation of wolves against Mowgli as he was growing up.

Sure, that could be a point. But still...

Well, Baloo was no much for him and he's a giant bear

Which is unrealistic. In reality in a fight between a Giant Bear, and a Tiger the Bear would only neet to bring it's fist down onthe Tiger's head onece, and it would completely shatter it's skull.

reply

If the bear was quick enough to do that.

reply

Yes, and the wolf-raised boy, dancing monkeys and hypnotizing snake were all totally realistic.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

I think the answer were looking for is:

*DRAMATIC DRUM ROLL*

This is a fictional animated Walt Disney production , not a Discovery channel documentary about animals in the wild.

You're the only sane one on this thread so far. And that's what's great about animation. You can take any liberties you want in making an animated film. It doesn't have to be at all realistic. Besides, real animals can't talk. :-D

You know, I've never seen the second (I don't plan to anyway), but as far as humans understanding animal-talk, I don't think it's too much of a stretch. I don't know, I like to think if you were raised in the wild (i.e. Mowgli, Tarzan, George of the Jungle) you'd pick up on how to communicate with the animals. Who knows, maybe Jane Goodall could tell you what a chimpanzee is trying to communicate to another chimpanzee or even a human. I'd imagine that after a 45-year study, Jane picked up how to communicate with a chimpanzee.

An entire pack of wolves could not defeat a male tiger. Tigers are the biggest cats in the world. Even bigger than Lions. It would go down the same way it goes down in africa with lions and hyenas. The hyenas always bully the lioness's but when one male lion comes into the picture he alone will chase off 8 hyenas by himself. They want no part of it.

reply

That's a good analogy.

I think a more subtle reason for sending him back to the man village was that, that is where he belongs and would be the most happy. Bagheera sort of touches on this "you wouldn't want to marry a panther would you Baloo?" Humans belong with humans, and animals belong with animals. That is what Bagheera was so adamant about. I think this reason is much more compelling and realistic and also where the moral of the story lies.

reply

I know it's just a film, but Indian wolves are actually much smaller than American ones, so a tiger could easily overpower them.

reply

They sent him back to the village because he was annoying.
