I ride the CTA train everyday in Chicago.

Luckily I have not seen anything this bad but once an agressive bum walked on the train and went one on one to the passengers if they had money. One preppy lady who had her suitcase with her (obviously from the O'hair airport) told him "no" but he just kept saying "oh come on... you have some money"...

Nobody said anything to him (including myself) I simply did not want to get hurt ofcorse, but i got up and went to the front of the train. (i moved from car to car) the guy tried to stop me yelling "Where are you going, I'm just asking for money" But anyway, when the train stopped at the next station I got out and told the driver that this bum (who was smoking by the way) was bothering the passengers. The driver just said "OK" and that was it. He did nothing about it.

I was amazed though that I was the only person who got up. Eveyone else just sat there hoping he would just leave them alone.

The funny thing was in the front of the train where I went to were these "hoodlums" who were laughing and having a good time. When the bum came to the front of the train and asked them for money they yelled "Ain't nobody got money on this train man, get cho stankin' poor-ass off!" He finally got off the train. Ha ha

Kurt, Watch this youtube video of how the train drivers stick their head out of the window when they open and close the doors. - They are always at the first car here in Chicago. It is very easy for a passenger to just walk out and talk to them at this time. I don't see how my story could have any fabrication. I can't imagine anyone who rode this train as much as me would NOT have such a story.

reply

(sarcasm) Ya my story was an obvious fabrication. There is never any confrontations what so ever. All the passengers sip sweet tea and hold hands and sing kumbayah all day long.

The unexpected joys of riding the train? I ride a bike but i do miss those days, as long as they didn't get violent the crazies were pretty amusing. Once a guy was even walking the tracks in front of us and the cops had to shut down the freeway right next to us to grab him.

If you don't believe in Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it, put this in your sig.

reply

Yeah, the black bums in Chicago are incredibly aggressive, cat calling to you if you ignore them. New York black bums would never do that.

I wonder if the colored bums in Chicago are that emboldened because of the Chutzpah that comes from kinship with our current Communist president.

reply

Well good, I'm glad he did!
