All poor to middle income NY'ers need to get on their hands and knees and thank Gulianni for cleaning up the City. For the rich, NY has always been one of the safest places to live, but those who could not afford taking a taxi had to take the subway and you always had to be wary of a gang of kids.
I used to live in the City in the mid to late 70's and I worked as a bodyguard and I still had to be alert. It is funny, but Bobby (the coward who played the soldier) was a bartender and one of the regular patrons was getting beat up outside on the sidewalk by thugs on pills and Bobbly locked the door so no one would go out and get hurt trying to help. I was not there, but that is what several friends told me. Funny but you would think that after doing the film Bobby would lead the way.
