Smith College Must be Proud

Always liked this movie and am so glad TMC showed it this month. That said, I noticed a quick moment when Juliet is meeting Miss Woodworth for the first time and Miss Woodworth asks her to spell "geriatrics." She responds "jerryatrix." Just seconds before, she had said she had a B.A. from Smith.

The folks in Northhampton at Smith College must have been thrilled to see that little exchange.

one 'h' in Northampton - unless you were making a spelling error joke

Nope. Typing error. You are, of course, correct.

Aye, spell she could not, but smell she could. She detected the distinct odor of a burglary ring.

Just saw that exchange as well on the movie. And Juliet appears to either be attending or working at Columbia University as well.

And not only can't she spell the word, it seems she has no idea what it means (??!!). And further states/implies that for exotic words such as geriatrics, someone quite artful in spelling should Instead be favored for the job.

LoL, I think the movie writers were serious about this part of the plot (??!!). Quite strange.
