Paulo Elias, obviously you got confused - you don't NEED to see stupid cartoon - the bastards added cartoon to the shortened, butchered version ; that cartoon was NEVER part of the original version, only a green monster with fangs transformed from a MGM lion, and even that was changed in american version - it was just a lion growing fangs ...
Stupid Americans cut 16 minutes from the film, adding silly cartoon, and they even redubbed many of the actor's voices ( including Polanski's ) to eliminate the Yiddish and East European accents .
Anti - Semitic Shagal ? My God, how stupid they were ! Polanski IS Jewish, for God's sake !

Oh, I see .
Yes, this is a great little movie, isn't it ? Poor Sharon Tate, though ...
She was really beautiful . It always makes me sad when I watch this film, when I know that this tragedy occured two years later ...
And about censorship - ha ! I'm a huge Sam Peckinpah & Ken Russell fun, you know what I mean ?
I've even read somewhere on the net recently that Russell's masterpiece " The Devils " ( 1971 ) is officially THE most censored film in history of cinema, so there ! And God knows will this EVER be on DVD ? So, I guess you're lucky - at least it's on DVD ( Blow - up, that is ) ...

AHA ! Then you MUST be into Pasolini, as well ...
As you probably know, there are few versions of his death:

1. Male prostitute killed him for no good reason .

2. An angry viewer killed him, because of the newly released controversial "SALO" .

3. Political theory - Italian government PAID this male prostitute or whoever to kill him, because he was danger to them with his leftist articles, essays and movies - he critisized the government for being corrupt in this two - parted essay published in ... I don't remember what newspapers, but he got killed right before the 2nd part was due to appear, where all the NAMES would be mentioned ...
One thing is sure though : he was brutally murdered and his body was found lying on a beach in the morning of 2nd november, 1975 . The killer even drove over Pasolini's body a couple of times with Pasolini's own ALFA ROMEO . Horrible !

Back to censorship : my dear friend, I'm from Serbia ( ex - Yugoslavia ), so I also know a thing or two about ( communist ) censorship ...
Not to mention USSR ; poor Tarkovsky & Paradzanov ! Paradzanov even spent couple of years in jail ( 7, I think ) because of his masterpiece " Shadows of the ..." ( 1964 ) . And Tarkovsky showed his masterpiece " Andrey Rublov " ( 1966 ) 3 years after it's release, because Soviet government couldn't ignore anymore the fact that the movie won all kinds of prizes throughout the world ...
My God, it must've been hard to be an artist and intelectual in brainless Soviet Russia ...
