Dance of the Vampires? We all know Fearless Vampire Killers is the most famous name for this movie. IMDB seems to use a lot of obscure alternate titles for their main entries.
The original title of the film is Dance Of The Vampires, and it was originally released in Europe as Dance Of The Vampires.
MGM changed the title to Fearless Vampire Killers, which, according to IMDb's own rules, is an alternative title.
Various people were trying to update the title correction for years (people were talking about the title issue years ago on the Roman Polanski board and this board), it is about time they finally corrected the title.
However, the *real* name of this film is Dance of the Vampires. The other title was something stupid that the film company gave the film after editing/cutting it (and adding some cartoon). I saw the film when it was released in the late 60's, and I also have a VHS copy of it. So, whenever you see the original name Dance of the Vampires you'll know it's the real version like Roman Polanski wanted it to be!
I prefer "Dance Of The Vampires", it sounds more serious, and not so Americanized. And IMDB always use the original titles, so it's correct. :) It's silly to change the title of a movie.

I know that "Dance of the Vampires" is the original title of this movie, but I actually like "The Fearless Vampire Killers" better, though I don't care for that "or, Pardon me, but your teeth are in my neck." That's stupid.
Fearless Vampire Killers IS the best title for this film. Dance Of The Vampires sounds like some kind of working title. FVK perfectly encapsulates the whole essence of the two major characters.
And the fact they don't actually kill any vampires is why this film is a comedy.

WOW so there are 2 versions of the movie? I'm downloading it right now in few downloads under the name "The Fearless Vampire Killers", and 1-2 downloads under the name "Dance Of The Vampires". How do I know which one is the original? And what cartoon is it about?
