Quarrying

Was Iain Quarrier dubbed in this movie? Anyone know what happened to him?

Really? I'd just seen him in Sympathy for the Devil where he sounds nothing like Herbert "what's that you're holding like a little treasure?" von Krolock. Must have been the drugs (or the fangs). If Polanski's gonna make a version of the musical with himself as Abronsius, maybe he'll cast Quarrier as The Count? Assuming he's still with us of course.

Quarrier and Jack MacGowran are also both in "Wonderwall" and Polanski's "Cul-de-sac," and based on listening to Quarrier in those, I think he's dubbed in FVK, but maybe he's not and just putting on a voice. I'm not sure.

Quarrier couldn't handle the accent Polanski had in mind for his character so he was dubbed by a Polish actor.

From the FVK Trivia page: "Iain Quarrier, who played the gay vampire Herbert, was dubbed by an uncredited Vladek Sheybal."
It must be fairly difficult for some actors to manage a credible slavic accent, although Ferdy Mayne did a great job in this film.
