what breed is iornside's dog?

My wife has recently became interested in the idea of owning a dog as a pet but here is the snag-- it has to be the same breed of a dog as the one featured in the iornside series/movie. I would like to enlist any help to ascertain this breed. thanking you all for your assistance. Morgan

Other then an episode about dognappers, I don't recall a regular canine in the series. Perhaps your wife is thinking of another series.

You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead.

I believe your wife is thinking of the show Longstreet, starring James Franciscus from 1971. All I remember about the dog is that it's white, perhaps a shepard?

I think your wife has her wires crossed... The TV show she's thinking of was Longstreet, with James Franciscus... And the dog's name was Pax. He was a white German Shepherd Dog. That is considered a fault, in that breed, as is blue.
If you want one, find a reputable breeder, DO NOT GO TO A PUPPY MILL, YOU WILL BE SADLY DISAPPOINTED!
Good Luck!

Your wife is very likely recalling the very well trained black and grayish-tan German Shepard the Chief "baby-sat" as it were in the episode entitled "Sergent Mike"

Please Please Dont get a dog just because it looks nice on the TV.
You will stack up a whole load of problems if it does not behave like the one you've seen.
Buy a breed of dog that goes with your home and life style.
Do you have the space and time to look after your dog?

Is there a good breeder near you so you can inspect the litter of pups?.
Remember That the dogs you see on the TV or films are highly Trained and unless you can spare the time to do the same.
