Ironside has to dream up ways to distract Mark from returning to a life of crime. If he doesn't get him to shave at that precise moment, he might mug Eve for her purse. Ironside's latest ploy is to take laxatives and force Mark to panic over his colostomy bag. When I say "his", I'm refering to the chief. Mark only carries a stocking and cosh. He's just sent him out because the bag has split under the pressure and needs a refill of colost.
