I find it interesting how every office building, home and literally every place Ironside went was wheelchair accessible. That was far from the case in the 1960s and 70s.

There were a couple of times when Ironside was faced with obstacles in his wheelchair. When Eve killed the young jewelry store robber, Ironside had to roll off a curb. There were no ramps in the pavement. Also, when there was one episode when Mark had to tip the wheelchair with Ironside in it to access a curb. There were also times that he had to stay by the van or in the van, because some of the locations were not wheelchair accessible. But this series was ground-breaking. I don't remember any character then or now who had to work in a wheelchair.
