From the pilot film through the fourth season, the barber chair was fixture in the office/apartment of Robert T. Ironside. Then it disappeared in the fifth season, as did the pool table and Barbara Anderson. Has anyone heard why it was eliminated?

When the show was new, my family and I went to dinner at a restaurant near UCLA in Westwood Village, Calif, where, in a non-chain restaurant (named Poppi's?), they had a race car and an identical barber chair in the waiting area. Everyone that came in, including us teens, said "An Ironside chair!", and went to sit in it. True story.
