Why did Barbara Anderson Leave?

Did Barbara Anderson leave because of a contract dispute or because she got married according to her IMDB entry?

Also, why is there no link to her IMDB entry on this Ironside webpage? She is not even listed as a cast member here despite her being on the series for 3 years.

Finally, I see she had a acting credit on ER for 2007. The first acting credit for 14 years since 1993 for The Return of Ironside. What does she look like ? Is she as beautiful as before?

I read somewhere (don't ask where) that it was because of a contract dispute.
I didn't know about ER. Any idea if the episode can be downloaded ?

There is a Barbara Anderson link on the Ironside page, you have to click "more" after Elizabeth Baur and the rest of the cast comes up.

Gee, I wish I'd known about the ER appearance. I haven't watched it in years, but I certainly would have tuned in to see our Eve.

I have downloaded and watched the ER episode and Barbara Anderson is NOT in the show.
Imdb has incorrectly linked her to the episode. It is actually another woman with the same name as Barbara Anderson. This young woman appears near the beginning of the show by walking through the room with a non-speaking role.
So, don't bother looking for this episode. Barbara Anderson remains in retirement.

I remember from someplace that two actors cannot have the same name unless one retires or dies. Does that mean that she has totally retired or is she still doing community theatre somewhere.

I have heard that many times, although it seems more of a guideline than something that the Screen Actors Guild absolutely insists. There are two American character actors named Richard Bull, and IMDB has their film careers intermixed, which is infuriating.

biffot: Barbara went on from her role on Ironside and left Universal to become one of the Mission: Impossible ladies for a number of that Paramount series' episodes and she meshed perfectly with its talented ensemble cast!
You mentioned her pivotal role in "The Conscience Of The King" Star Trek first season episode: I have always found the apex of that particular performance of hers to be one of the most believable portrayals of revealed criminal insanity via the stellar lighting and close up shots of her diamond blue eyes I have ever had the privilege to witness. Also, each time I have viewed the episode I have continually found her exquisitely timed, almost Shakespearian-like counterpoint dialog with Bill Shatner comparable to the experience of listening to a superb performance of a magnificently crafted musical composition.

There's a book kicking around about the series "Mission: Impossible" in which Barbara Anderson is quoted as saying that she left "Ironside" because she got married and wanted to start a family. She also goes on to say that she found her role in "Ironside" to be very restrictive - in her opinion the character went about as far as she could within the boundaries of the series. She then ended up doing some of the "Mission: Impossible" episodes when Lynda Day George went on maternity leave. She loved her time on this later show because she got to play a variety of roles within the missions she was assigned.

I'm not saying that there weren't contract disputes, but I've never heard or read this anywhere before seeing it on this board.

It also stated in the interview that she took the role in MI because she didn't get pregnant right away After leaving she did a number of guest appearances in various TV shows and a couple of TV movies She did a pilot for a Bonanza TV show
showing the next generation The Return of Ironside was her last role It was suppose to be part of a new series of TV movies but Burr was already suffering the early signs of the cancer that killed him and they could not continue
I have no idea if she would have appeared again By the way, she never did
have any children and is still married to the same man

I just came across a newspaper article that after Barbara Anderson left, she did get married, but then had second thoughts about leaving. Unfortunately for her, Elizabeth Baur had been hired, so she was unable to return.

I remember reading her say she couldn't even change her hair when she was doing "Ironside". After she left, she grew it out really long.
