TV actors

its interesting to see how often, especially in ensemble casts, that actors in series become"one and done"..ironside ,for example, had none of the supporting cast do much after the series..bauer,mitchell and anderson stopped working anywhere, and galloway had mostly guest shots on other people's series..sometimes actors are just right for a role in a TV series, but dont bring a lot more to the table..the sopranos is another example..the 2 leads get work, but the supporting cast, not so much..there are exceptions(mary tyler moore show, the west wing)but check out seinfeld(richards,alexander)m.a.s.h(farrell,rodgers,burgoff,aberjunois)

In some cases it could be that producers, who always seem to underestimate audiences, feel that an actor won't be accepted in something else after long-term role identification.

Don Galloway was probably happy for all the steady guest work he had in the years following Ironside. Keep in mind, this was the fourth series that Universal used him in, the other three being huge flops. The studio could have cut him loose after Convoy tanked, but he got cast in Ironside and made the most of it.
