Things I learned from watching The Invaders

1. David Vincent is not a practising architect and has visible means of financial support. His business partner was killed off in episode two. David never has anything to do with architecture practice except one episode 'the innocents' when he briefly admires a building. but apparently that was only in a dream
2. Hot women seem to hang around where there are a lots of aliens
3. Everybody seems to drive Fords and there never many European cars or V8s
4. The 1960s American and British pop music culture seem to have bypassed the invaders. The only music playing on jukeboxes in the invaders is crappy Muzak
5. Aliens from advanced civilisation can travel great distances between galaxies but they still have analog controls in their space vehicles
6. The aliens are real smart but not wise enough to just shoot David Vincent dead.

1. There is an episode in season 2 where David Vincent is at the drafting table working on a project and has been working for a while as the Narrator explains he has been on a bit of a sabbatical from alien chasing. He then is recruited for an alien related job.

2. Agreed, and not only hanging around aliens but some of them are aliens!

3. Yes, Ford was one of the sponsors on the show. To take the vehicle thing one step further, many of the vehicles on the show are a light blue color, about 90%, including a couple of military jeeps.

4.Typical of tv shows of the sixties, for whatever reason.

5. Agreed again, this is one thing where I catch myself thinking, just kill him now and he's out of your hair! But then there wouldn't have been much of a show where the star gets killed off.

3. I remember another ABC show- The FBI- also sponsored by Ford. It was kind of comical. Any description of a car when trying to apprehend a suspect was a Ford.

3. The cars of the era had style (I liked the look of Vincent's Ford) but they sure handled poorly!...watch as the bounced around when in motion. Most US cars of the time had V8 engines.
5. Effects budgets no doubt limited. We only had analog controls as the time...hard to imagine touch screens etc.
