This episode was from the second season. 1968. I have to say that this one really moved me! What a great bunch of soldiers! The 10th Cavalry is a part of our history.... something to be proud of. I was impressed with this story.
The Tenth Cavalry comes to Tucson to stop crime. They are Buffalo Soldiers who must also contend with racism. With aid from the Cannons they show their pride and great ability as they take on the man controlling the town and his henchmen.
I remember this one. The sergeant who was put in charge of the troops went on to a long career as a character actor. If youve ever seen Midnight Run, he played the FBI agent that DeNiro was impersonating for half the movie.

LOL! Alonzo Mosely! Love that movie. I just watched it again a few weeks ago. Now I have to watch The Buffalo Soldiers again. I didn't place him when I was watching that the other day. Thanks so much for letting me know!
Youre most welcome! My two favorite shows for spotting future stars are Twilight Zone and Gunsmoke. At one point, I think half of Hollywood got their start with a guest role on either (or both!) of these shows.
I wish High Chaparral would get picked up by Netflix or one of my cable channels soon. Do you get it on your cable system now?
❤️️
Actually, I don't get cable. We cut that out and got an antenna for the roof. We do get about 14 channels with that. We get Me TV, which runs Big Valley and if I'm not mistaken, Gunsmoke too in the afternoons. and Antena tv is great for classic TV shows.. We also get Heroes and Icons, That shows Have Gun Will travel, Rawhide, Wagon Train and of course, the High Chaparral in the mornings.
We also have Roku boxes for our TVs, so we can stream different sites. We pay for Netflix, but we get many other sites for free. I discovered High Chaparrel on YouTube. All of the episodes are there.
You're right about The Twilight Zone and Gunsmoke. i love spotting young stars who went on to become big names.
There are some surprises on High Chaparral. Barbara Hershey, Bonnie Bedelia, Kevin Mcarthy among others.
Another good show to spot the talent is Alfred Hitchcock Presents/Hour.
Hello again MissMargoChanning! I was staying with a cousin last weekend who has DirectTV and found out they have High Chaparral available to stream. Watched a bunch of episodes. So if you ever want to put a satellite dish next to that antenna you can watch all the HC you can handle!
Actually, I can get many episodes on YouTube. Sadly, they aren't the best quality in picture, but we take what we can get. 😄
We're not really into that satellite, but thanks for the thought!
