The 5th Season - Uncle Buck and Wind

I have yet to watch the 4th season of High Chaparral, so I cannot weigh in on what I think of the character Wind, although some fans did not care for him much. And it is a pity that there was no 5th season of HC, as it was revealed by the producer that Uncle Buck and Wind would actually be related - as father and son! Of course, Uncle Buck had been around quite a lot, and it would not be surprising that he would have fathered a child, even by an Indian woman (whether it be a one-night stand or some more substantial). Uncle Buck, of course, seemed to have a very soft heart and love (especially for Blue) as far as children and young people were concerned. I remember the excellent 1st season episode "Bad Day For A Thirst" where Buck "adopts" two loner Indian boys to work at HC and is very proud of them. At the end, sadly, one of the boys gets shot to death during an Indian vs. HC attack while trying to get to a wounded Buck. Buck must have truly loved those boys, since he was weeping over the body of the dead one. However, his relationship with Wind was certainly not one of love; in fact, they were often at odds from what I had read. So imagine the great plotlines that could have come out of that HC relationship! Too bad that the show cost too much to produce, the main reason why it was canceled, which was a bummer. The show still had not worn out its welcome, and had many more possibilities left over, unlike Bonanza.
