The Carlos/Sister Bertrille website

Here's the reason most of the girls growing up at the time watched TFN - we hoped Sister Bertrille would one day come to her senses and run-away with Carlos. :)

Here's the little webpage all about that, for other TFN/Carlos/Elsie fans

I'm so glad that other fans are pointing out what a nice series this was. Sally Field and Alejandro Rey were wonderful in it, as was the entire cast. There's nothing inherently dumber about a flying nun than there is about a flying Kansas farmboy.

I loved this show... besides coming out with the 3rd season, I wish they would come out with a movie. They could get away with a lot more now than they could in the 1960's... that would be lot's of fun! Think of the posibilities ;)

I remember a schoolyard rumor when I was a kid that Sister Bertrille was going to leave the convent and marry Carlos. You are not alone in this!

Ha! yes, Superman/Superboy.

I always loved the show. I found that "shippers" website years ago. People love to put characters together. That is what they can do. But I disagreed with Carlos and Elsie marrying and her giving up being a nun -- because she loved being a nun, that was her vocation, and nothing foolish about it. Romantic/sexual love is not the most important nor only sort of love. Carlos was a former orphan of the convent, so was devoted to helping the nuns, and Bertrille/Elsie loved him as a friend, and dear friendship is a rare thing -- who else did Carlos have as a dear friend? He wasn't really close to anyone else. His casino colleagues? His girlfriends? Bertrille was his dear friend, and such a friendship is valuable. Considering all the stupid men I had romantic/sexual relationships with, and those who were friends, I would prefer the friends. I would have liked if the friends would have been boyfriends, but no, I did not get lucky. So, then, I understand why people like to "ship" the two.

BTW< I just read "The Fifteenth Pelican" the novel the series was based upon, and Carlos was not in it. The stuff for the series was inspired and brilliant, well done.
