You Could See The Wires Holding Her UP...

when she was sometimes airborne. They could've made the special effects a little bit better in this oldie but goodie.

The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

The idea then was that on certain transfers the cables, because they were thin, wouldn't register on the transfer. It wasn't always the case.

Now, thanks to high-def, digital remastering, you can practically see the harness she's wearing!

Yeah, they're dead; they're--all messed up!

It's most noticeable in the opening credits, when she is holding onto the leash of a running dog. To me, it's part of the charm of the show. They could easily, I'm sure, go back and digitally remove such things but what would be the point?

You know there's a die hard "Flying Nun" fanbase waiting for the super-special remastered /new SFX blu-ray edition to come out

You're probably right. I came across it on the Antenna channel and watched a few episodes (I hadn't watched it in years). It's a silly premise but Sally Field and the rest of the cast were all very likable, which is why I think it lasted as long as it did.

You mean she couldn't really fly?

Next you'll be saying The Partridge Family didn't really play their own instruments and record those songs. Or that the Professor on Gilligan's Island didn't really build those great gadgets that could have gotten them off the island if Gilligan hadn't screwed up. Or that they weren't really on an island but on some studio back lot.

At least Mr. Ed could really talk, right? Right???

Kid, you're bothering me. LOL.

I think the problem is the fact that all of these scenes were shot outdoors, with natural lighting - and not indoors on a closed set with controlled lighting.

I say this because at the same time, there was BEWITCHED, with levitating people and objects which was (mostly) shot indoors. You can't really see any wires or other resources used to help with the 'magic' on that set. If the show was shot outdoors in natural lighting, I think there would be the same problems.

I prefer fantasy over reality TV - like Fox News. - B.Streisand

according to nick-at-nite, right. It was Wilbur they had to use fishing lines and peanut butter to make it look like Wilbur was really talking.
