I always liked when Joe would call whoever the boss was, 'the skipper'. I only wish they would have gotten Alan Hale to be the shift supervisor in some of the episodes. Now THERE was a real skipper! And while they were at it they could have gotten Russell Johnson to be "one of the boys in the lab" and maybe Bob Denver to be a weaselly little character used as an informant by the cops.

LOL...How about Tina Louise as the stereotypical "hooker with a heart of gold" in one of the episodes.
