Joe Friday's way with women.
At the moment, I'm watching episode S3/Ep22, "Vice - DR-30", about the boys going undercover as out-of-owners looking for an illegal poker game. Watching Friday interact with the buxom blonde intermediary is hilarious. It's almost like he's TRYING to offend her, even apart from anything to do with his undercover role. I've noticed that he uses the same hot & cold approach with other women he meets up with in a social setting, whether undercover or when actually seeming to be hitting on them. First he appears to warm up to them - then, just as he seems to be getting somewhere, he turns abrasive and seems to intentionally torpedo his chances. Even when he has a prospective steady girlfriend over to his apartment once, doubling with Gannon and his wife for dinner at home, his idea of a wild time is grilling steaks on a hibachi in his tiny fireplace. The boy's got to up his game, or he'll NEVER get his bell rung!
