So, was Jack Webb really in Law Enforcement? He seems to be connected to every show that dealt with the professional service,s that was produced in the 50's and 60's?
shareFrom what I know about Mr. Webb he was never in any sort of law enforcement. I think he was just a great admirer of what they do.
shareAs I understand it, Jack Webb first became interested in police work when he had a small role in the 1948 movie, He Walked By Night, starring Scott Brady and Richard Basehart. It was about the methods used by police detectives to track down a killer. Webb was fascinated by the details involved in identifying the suspect and became something of a police buff.
His other interests included jazz, chili dogs, scotch, Chesterfield cigarettes, and beautiful women.
