Also... in the TV movie, Dragnet 69, Gannon retires and moves to Pismo Beach to take a guard job "at a small electronics plant there." When Joe encounters him later he tells Joe how eating the clams has "made a new man out of me" and that he wants to come back and work with Joe again. He tells him the only part of his physical he has left to pass is the blood test and that it shouldn't be a problem. Joe then says "Don't be too sure, they've probably never done a test on pure clam juice." One of my favorite movies of all time. It was actually filmed in 1966 but not released till 1969. Bobby Troupe was in this one too - I think all the same actors were used for every Dragnet show! Interesting that Bobby Troupe married Jack Webb's X-wife and raised his daughters and remained good friends with Webb.
