Dragnet vs. Highway Patrol

Highway Patrol episodes were almost all action, and it happened quite often that the bad guy would die in a shootout with Dan Mathews and his men. Dragnet episodes were almost all talk and there were only a few gunshots on the 1967-70 series.

True. But with Dragnet the dialogue was the best part. Especially when Friday would berate criminals and other unsavory individuals. He didn't hold back and it was always very funny.

Well they DID both have Bill Boyett in them....

Was Bill Boyett THE actor most typecast as a cop? Unless its Ed Peck...
