How much did the mocking Dragnet take affect Webb?
I would imagine he grew very bitter as the years went on, correct me if I'm wrong.

The Three Stooges did a great Dragnet parody.

Don't forget woody woodpecker and porky pig. In fact, the woody parody ended with the mark VII guy hitting his thumb with the hammer!
shareLook in the paperback anthology "Like, MAD" for the article on coats of arms; Jack Webb's shows the guy dropping the stamp and the mallet and grabbing his hand, with the thumb he hit!
shareWebb took the work of cops very seriously and it is obvious. But off screen the man had something of a sense of humor,liked women, drinking and playing jazz. I don't think he was all that dour.
