All I can remnember is it was a junville case and his mother who'd came home from grocery shopping when she heard the truth about her son she droped the bag I know that's not anything to go on but if some one could identfy the episode I'd appreciate it

shareOne thing's for sure...Jack Webb really knew how to squeeze the last drop out of material. I won a CD set of the Dragnet radio shows on Ebay that were broadcast from 1949-57, and I've recognized several of the plots as the same ones that were turned into TV episodes during the '67-'70 run.

The proposed and never to be made 1980's version of DRAGNET (which never happened because Webb died of a heart atack) was apparently going to 'update' several older scripts once again. Kent McCord would have been Jack's new partner. It's a shame he passed away before they could film some of these episodes. I don't know how long it would have lasted in the 80's unless they seriously updated the format. Plus, Jack was getting pretty old.
