No homes , offices or stores have any clutter or mess! LOL. Even the hippies, druggies and hate-mongers have very "controlled" filth. LOL.
Could you imagine if Dragnet did an episode about a hoarder ? LOL.

Jack wanted the TV program to be as close to the radio program as possible. He didn't want it to be based on visual but rather a story you could follow without having to see it. I don't know if TV stations back then did audio only broadcasts but if they did it would widen the appeal of the show by not having to view it on TV.
