Char Woman Character
In the Carol Burnette and Friends shows being broadcast on MEtv I've noticed Charwoman skits are not being played.
Is there some reason for this?

The question made me curious...and the best guess i have is that the charwoman was used in earlier episodes more than later episodes due to over use of the character
It seems that the first 5 seasons have different rights than the later seasons and only the later seasons are on MEtv
I thought Charwoman was interspersed throughout the run of the series as Harpers and other characters were. I do look at copyright dates and I do see 1974-76 currently.
Otherwise, I don't know!
You made me more curious....So I tried scrolling through the IMDB episode guides using a search for charwoman...Although the earlier episodes have sparse descriptions likely due to them rarely being viewed and on a shelf somewhere they mention the charwoman considerably more...The later episodes almost never mention that character. It only comes up during two anniversary/clip shows.
I wonder if Bob Mackie had anything to do with it. With a talent like him around designing costumes they could do really interesting stuff every week...perhaps they just didn't have enough room in the script for a dowdy character when she could look glamorous every week.
I believe asherp is right. Except for the very last episode, I don't remember seeing a lot of that character, much as I heard about it and as prominently as the cartoon of it figured in the titles of both the original series and the syndicated package. But then, in 1970 I was in kindergarten, and I just don't remember much about the show before then.
Same with the episodes where Burnett and Lawrence play sisters. I think they did those to death and found areas in which to move on.
