A Great Gamble for Warner Bros
Mike Nichols first movie, starring Elizabeth Taylor at age 34 playing a harridan years older with her husband Richard Burton playing the weak willed George. Jack Warner could have played it safe with Roz Russell who wanted the movie and James Mason. For the record Jim Hutton wanted to play the George Segal part and Connie Stevens the Sandy Dennis part.
