No,no, no I have the DVD too but there's nothing like watching the network broadcast.

It is sort of a tradition in my house to watch it very year. It is one of the only Halloween themed kid shows that isn't going to keep my daughter (and me) up for 3 weeks! I do agree with both of you though, I really should buy the dvd. (Just in case I miss it) But there really is nothing like finding out when it's airing, making pop corn and hot chocolate and bring blanket and pillows in the living room and watching it.

Just bumping this thread -- need to find out when it airs. I agree with several who noted that watching it at 8 pm via the network feed, whenever that occurs, is somehow special, and more nostaligic...probably it's because that's how I did it as a child (pre-DVD years). It seems to me that in for awhile, ABC was airing it at the beginning of October, but I know last year it was the night before Halloween. It's Sunday Oct 5 today and I'm concerned it might have already aired and I missed it!

The thing that worries me the most is if you go to abc.com at this page:

http://abc.go.com/specials/holiday/index

it isn't even listed among the upcoming Charlie Brown holiday specials. The top one listed is "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving"...as if the Great Pumpkin has already aired and done with. If anyone can resolve this, please help a dad out! :-/

I don't think you missed it. I have been checking everywhere since the middle of September for a date. ( I want to plan a small Halloween party for my daughter when it airs). When I finally do get the info I will post it on this tread to let you know.

Yeah, that page is outdated -- it has 11/20 listed as a Tuesday, which means it's from 2007.

The fact that's it's not showing up in my two-week DirectTV schedule means it'll be after the 24th. That makes sense, but I hope that doesn't mean it'll only get a single showing. After Charlie Brown Christmas (which aired two or three times last holiday season), Great Pumpkin is by far the most famous Peanuts special. It deserves two airings, just in case.
