When does it come on?

I always forget - is it a week before Halloween?

The ABC website says Tuesday the 28th, but that's a Wednesday, so who knows? I guess I'll tune in both nights!

Apparently it's both Tuesday and Wednesday, although the second airing will be edited down to a half-hour (they'll probably cut out the "I got a rock" routine like in the old days). The first airing is part of an hour-long timeslot, but I don't know what they'll air in the second half to make up for the time. Maybe "You're Not Elected" like last year?

Why would they do that? 30 minutes is plenty of time to show it. It's 25 minutes long and add 5 minutes worth of commercials.

The reality is that it comes down to money. The networks have gradually squeezed in more and more commercial time in programming over the years, but to their credit, they do make the effort to show the main holiday specials unedited as part of an hour-long block.

From what I read, the repeat airing was a recent change in order to replace Kelsey Grammer's struggling new sitcom, so I guess they figured it was a cheap way to get decent ratings for that night.
