I remember ABC made some modifications last christmas time to A Charlie Brown Christmas. I was just wondering if anyone knows or would try to guess if ABC is doing the same thing for ITGPCB?? Was there ever a version they previously aired that had more scenes in it??
shareThe original version is the complete version. The amount of air time allotted for commercials has increased substantially since the 1960s. In order to cram it into the 30 minute slot (minus the ever-growing commercial time), ABC and CBS have edited out original scenes. Usually the trick-or-treat scenes are trimmed, or they remove the Snoopy/Schroeder piano scene or the Charlie Brown/Lucy football scene.
However, some years they fudge the schedule a bit and air the full episode. Usually they do this when ITGPCB is aired with You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown, which results in heavy editing of YNECB to accommodate for the full showing of ITGPCB along with all the extra commercials.
