I saw this every years since it came out and it just hit me that is 50 times. No wonder I can tell what scenes those ?!?! at ABC cut out. For its anniversary they should have treated it with more respect and maybe paired it with a "making of" special.

Me too. I saw it when it was first broadcast in 1966, and have seen it every Halloween since then. That's fifty-seven times, as of last night (Halloween 2022).
In 1966, when this was first shown, WWI was forty-eight years ago. That's like 1974 to us today.
