Ok, I get that fantasty that the shells were so tough that axes and bullets could not penetrate it.....but cmon..the wimply looking snake like necks? Your telling me that an axe or a bomb could not take separate the necks from the shells? slightly ridiculous.

They should have shown them cutting one off and having it replicate like a starfish limb. That would explain better, as to why they couldn't be defeated.

That would have worked well for the story but maybe they didn't have the time or budget.

To me the creatures looked rather cheesy. They were really cheap looking. But I guess that's the best they could do in the circumstances given.
