Did they ever explain what Audrey's character does for a living? I'm assuming it's something to do with art. I hope it wasn't too obvious ha

I don't recall that it was ever determined what she did...just that she worked with Americans.

Yeah, it always cracks me up to see working girls wearing haute couture!
Doris Day was like that in her films too - especially the ones with Gable, Rock, and Cary Grant!

But hey, her family had a big art collection, I guess that everytime they felt that they needed money they just sold a painting, and I wouldn't be suprised if her father did spoil her quite a lot.
