Showing this to my fifth grade reading group and they LOVE it!

My fifth grade reading group just finished reading From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs basil Frankweiler, and I wanted to show them what a real musem looked like. (The school is in a tiny town in Arizona.) They love it! We are watching in 25 minute increments.

There are plenty of strong similarities between the movie and the book. made within a year of each other, set in musuems, statues, famous Renaissance artists. Off for our compare/contrast essay, but I just wanted to post that it is so exciting to see how much they love a classic.

I wish somebody had introduced me to Miss Hepburn when I was 10 yrs old (this movie was made in my birth year)! Keep it up! Great fun, even all those years later...You could follow it with The Thomas Crown Affair (the remake, not the original, one of, if not the only remake I should recommend over the original), although it does have some adult scenes (nude scenes and mild swearing). This would introduce your charges to the Met., and Monet to boot!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...

Yay, so glad they liked it. I first saw it when I was about that age and I came away with a thorough crush on Peter O'Toole and a love for clever dialogue.

It's just so good.
