The movie was filmed in both Paris and a studio out of town.
I have a feeling the exterior is a real house in Paris and the interiors were all studio.
The exterior sure looks familiar - hugee double-staircase entrance and all.
Anyone know the exact location of the house?
shareWhen Simon is dropped off at the Ritz by Nicole, he orders a taxi to take her to 38 rue Parmentier. Two locations in Paris turned up on my Google Earth, but they don't resemble the house in the movie.
shareI was having a look at some more clues in the film to try and find the house... The good news is I did find where it was, but the bad news is that it is not there anymore... there is a modern appartment building in its place...
In the final scene of the film you can see there is a cafe across the road called "Le Vallier"; I did a bit of Google and found the address, 1 rue Louis Michel, just across rue Parmentier in Neuilly-sur-Seine...
So the address in the film was actually the real one...
In Street View in Google Maps you can see the railings are still there, (although they moved the gates to one side) but the house is not... you can also see the little brick kiosk at the left of the house, and across the street the same appartment buildings you see in the film and the cafe too...
It is gorgeous, so rustic, so charming....so damn parisian!!! God I wanna go! O'Toole and Hepburn in their prime in a city like paris - a film can't get much cooler than that!

Oh! Joaquin,
It's so depressing to see what happens to such beautiful architecture.
Why does it seem that its always the most beautiful places that get destroyed first?
Omg I cannot believe that café still existed for you to Google it! I noticed it too but thought it would have been gone decades ago. AMAZING.
