Can we shut up Tom Bergeron?

I usually really enjoy behind the scenes/historical retrospectives like the one that aired tonight, but why in all that is holy did someone pick Tom Bergeron to host this one?

The guy THINKS he is entertaining. That is obvious. But did anyone consider making him aware that the audience wanted to see the story of the show rather than having to watch him trying to be funny by doing impersonations of mugging for the camera? His voice has the energy and quality that could work as a narrator/host, but why does his type of irritating celebrity always seem to think that he is supposed to be the focus of any show rather than the people who actually were involved in making the show about which the retrospective was produced?

Yeah, Tom Bergeron? I don't know either. I think his voice is pretty irritating.

I don't think I've seen him until tonight. He's why I'm here tonight. This guy is destroying the whole behind the scenes show and I'm a fan of animation. By the time he decided to do the poor version of famous voices I opened the window up to reply to you.

I'm a big time old hand-drawn animation fan, so this says a lot about the frustration I'm feeling right now.

I remember this thread from IMDb and I hated it when they did the retrospective with Tom Bergeron's stupid as*. It was bad and one of the big reasons the Grinch was better off on Turner stations like it had been since the late 80s.

BTW, if you want to see a good retrospective on the Grinch, you need the find the 1994 "making of" documentary that was hosted by Phil Hartman. It was produced by Ted Turner and it aired on both TNT and TBS. I think it was on the so-called "50th Anniversary" DVD.
