Why doesn't anyone care it'll be 50 THIS MONTH!?
I've literally seen no news networks or anything commenting on the fact that this masterpiece is turning half a century old in three weeks! There aren't even going to be those typical anniversary screenings one would expect for such a masterpiece upon such a momentous occasion!
Clearly, one can't argue that it's too obscure a film or any rubbish like that! Much lesser known films (not to say they aren't masterpieces) are getting anniversary screenings, like Spirited Away! And Spirited Away is only turning 15 this year! You see Harry Potter getting so much attention for turning 15 or 19 this year, depending on how you look at it.
Yet, The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, universally considered the greatest western of all time with its overwhelmingly emotional score, powerful acting, overflowing intensity, and flawless directing from the genius Sergie Leonne, is not even appearing in headlines, let alone getting the attention it deserves on such a momentous occasion. Something's not adding up!!!
