Encounter

The season six episode Encounter is one of my favorite episodes. The plot was good. Elizabeth Ashley was terrific, and the last scene, when Barney comes into the bar to get her character some help was sweet.

So, cind5, Klondike6, Jimmy-128, cinna_mini_me and Jayn 1111, what did you guys think about this episode?

reply

Is that the one with William Smith?

reply

Yes. He played the bad guys henchman who checked into the same rehab as Elizabeth Ashley's character so he could kill her.

I haven't watch this episode in a couple of years, only thing that sticks out from it is I kept thinking how ugly Elizabeth Ashley was back then. What was George thinking when he married her?

reply

I don't think she's ugly, but that hairdo she had in the episode was awful.

BTW, I read that she played an IMF agent in a season seven episode, but I can't remember the name of it.

Happy Halloween to all of my fellow Mission Impossible posters!

A episode called The Question. I don't remember it, I just looked it up for you. She appeared when Linda Day George was pregnant and out. For several episodes during George's absence mostly Barbara Anderson filled in for her. Anderson looked beautiful in those episodes. It's funny thought I don't remember Anderson looking that hot when she was on Ironside.

reply

Thanks for the info. From what I remember of Ironside, Barbara Anderson seemed a little more "prim" on Ironside.

BTW, Barbara Anderson was on a first season Star Trek episode called The Conscious Of The King.

Are you a Star Trek geek like me? If so, you must come over and join that board, we need some new blood.

Your favorite series is DS9?

reply

Jay, if you're asking me, my favorite ST series is DS9. It's not my favorite series over all, that would be The Prisoner w/ Patrick McGoohan.

reply

Yeah I was just curious since you mentioned star trek. I am also a fan. I"m currently watching DS9. It's my 2nd time watching the series and I think it's amazing from start to finish.

reply

That's what I thought as well, but some say it didn't get good until the 4th season. The 2nd season is where they start planting the seeds for the rest of the series. Except for STTOS, it has the best 1st season and has the best ST pilot episode, no exceptions.

The Emissary was awesome. I do think they took it to another level in the 4th season and it really took off from that point, but I thought the first 3 seasons were great too. As a matter of fact they really don't have any episodes I dislike.

I love TOS also. That's the one I grew up with so it's hard for me to pick a favorite between the two. I know TNG really has always had such a hardcore fanbase and I like the show too, but I felt like DS9 was far superior to TNG and didn't get the recognition it deserved.

There are 2 episodes I really don't like, the ones with Dr. Bashir and those misfit geniuses. My 3 favorites are
Beyond The Stars
In The Pale Moon Light
Trials And Tribble-ations
