It is the Geisel Library building at the University of California campus in San Diego.
shareNot that I doubted you Lima, but when I googled the Geisel Library, it loaded with a bunch of cool photos. It was named for Theodore Geisel ... Dr. Seuss!
More trivia, Stu and Lima: The Pendulum may have been the pre-penultimate episode in broadcast order, but it was the last episode filmed in production order. The real final mission!!
So, any mission after this one were definitely disavowed by the secretary.
Spenser with an "S", like the poet.

Happy to please a fellow Mission: Impossible fan, StuOz. Since you mentioned music in your original post on this thread, here’s a quote from page 421 of Patrick White’s book “The Complete Mission Impossible Dossier” regarding this episode. I think it confirms your thoughts on “The Pendulum” as the final mission:
“The music editor, perhaps seeing the writing on the wall and feeling a little nostalgic, spices the show with choice Mission melodies, some dating back to the pilot. They are a welcome change from the more often used later selections.”
