the prayers
there are the religious aspects of the film: the lord knees in fron of the little altar as soon as he enters the tower and he prays two times in the night before the attacks. Is the faith or the honour that prevents him from raping the girl? He has her only with the knowledge of the whole village and soldiers, sort of legitimation, but feels the need to give her the ring to tie her at him and his family. it would be interesting to know when the use of the wedding ring started, but we modern people can see easily what it means.
