Surfite!

Just needed to mention that the little one-seater yellow car with the surfboard was Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's 'Surfite', powered by a Mini-Cooper motor. The guy was a mechanical artist, and didn't get mentioned in the credits (where George Barris was - he must have had a hand in the other hot rods) - I just had to give "Big Daddy" his props.

As far as I know, the only thing that was really mentioned regard Barris' involvement in the film was the hotrod with the detachable body in the one scene where it tries to drag one of the giants, and the body just flies off.

In Barris' book, there's images showing their work on this, and you can also find it in the Vehicles area of the Information button on my website, www.villageofthegiants.net.

Though there wasn't any word if Barris did or didn't do extra work regarding the other souped-up cars in the scene.

"Thanks, guys." "So long, partner."
