Wouldn't bullets still kill the giants?

Why did the giant kids think the guns wouldn't have killed them?
They weren't THAT much taller than normal people. I'd think bullets would still rip their flesh like any other living thing.

Or douse then with gas and light them on fire. Or burn down that theater while they were asleep.

Thank god they didn't show us where they took a dump. Phew!

They couldn't burn down the theater because the giants were holding the sheriff's little girl hostage, remember?

Of course the giant teens knew that bullets could still kill them. That's why the first thing they did when they took over the town was order the sheriff to collect all the guns.

But how would they know ALL the guns had been turned in, without inspecting every building from cellar to attic (which would have been rather difficult at their size)? The honor system?

I questioned that as well. You'd figure there'd be someone who wouldn't part with their rifle for anything. Unless it was a town/village where the Sheriff had a list of all registered firearms.

That's why the Founding Fathers gave us a Second Amendment. They had the foresight to know that sometime in the future, giant teenagers might take over a small town and try to take away everybody's guns!

Bullets don't kill giants. People kill giants.

This topic is very old, but I just saw the movie again after 30 years. The OP says the giants weren't that much taller than normal people. So, lets look at that. From the couple of scenes were we see a normal sized person next to the feet of the giants, it appears that the normal humans don't even reach the knee of the giants. I would say they reach about 2/3s of the way up. So, in human proportions a man (or woman) is about 7 1/2 heads high. From the knee to the floor is 1 1/2 head tall. So that would mean a normal person is about 1 giant head high. So, if we assume that the normal people we see are teenagers and not fully grown, I would guess they are about 5'9" or 5 3/4 feet high. Therefore a giant is slightly over 43 feet high.

So a giant stands about as tall as a Brachiosarus. (there are a few species of that order taller). That is pretty big. It is likely a normal gun, which is what we see, would have little effect on something that size unless they managed hit the eye.
